As part of Cambridge University's Museum of Zoology's "Zoology Live!" festival I was invited to produce a film with my top tips for making wildlife films on a budget. These 5 tips are aimed at total beginners who want to start capturing the fascinating wildlife all around them using equipment they already have. In the Zoology Department we create "ZooCast", a series of short films featuring, and entirely produced by, graduate students. Until recently we have been creating formal interviews, but we are trialling a new snappier format called "ZooCast Shorts" so that you can follow a grad student around the department and see it through their eyes. The hazel dormouse is one of the UK's most iconic mammals - with their bright eyes and bushy tails they steal the hearts of anyone who meets them. But they are endangered in the UK and their numbers have been declining for at least 100 years. So what can we do to help them? For the last few months I have been following the staff and volunteers at the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and the People's Trust for Endangered Species to find out more about the first ever dormouse reintroduction project at Brampton Wood (https://www.wildlifebcn.org/brampton-wood), where 25 years on the population is thriving. Come with me and find out what it takes to reintroduce dormice, maintain their habitat and monitor their populations. We might even meet some of the fuzzy little icons themselves!

Join me on one of my favourite autumnal activities - fungus hunting! This vlog is packed with fun fungal facts, focusing on the amazing ecosystem benefits that fungi provide. This mini-doc was filmed at the beautiful Wildlife Trust BCN's Overhall Grove, the largest elm woodland in Cambridgeshire.

The Northern Gannet is the UK's largest seabird, can reach speeds of 100km/h when diving for fish, and nests on vertical sea cliffs.
